Seriously? It’s shocking that no one in 125 years had done that
If we allow it in the aggregate (20 Ks + 0 BBs in first 2 games), then [there are three pitchers total](https://screwball.com/search?q=Pitchers+with+at+least+20+strikeouts+and+0+walks+in+their+first+2+starts+of+a+season), including Gausman this year, Kershaw and Burnes.
The reason the record is less surprising is that the all time MLB record for [most straight games with 10+ Ks and no walks](https://screwball.com/search?q=Most+straight+games+with+10%2B+Ks+and+0+walks) is just 3, so it doesn’t happen very often at all anyways.
Pretty great start to a contract year for him
If strikeouts mattered as much as home runs he might have a win
Imagine if the Orioles had a guy like that
Even more infuriating that our batters couldn’t accompany his record with some run support.
Let’s hope the jays can keep this mentality throughout the season! Let’s go Jays!
I’m so glad I finally had his jersey on order before this season, long time Bluejays legend, hope he gets a 1-2 yr extension
How many pitchers in 125 years have started the season playing teams as bad as the As and Rockies back to back?
I’ve had Gausman in my franchise fantasy league as a keeper since he played for the Orioles. Dude has always had electric stuff, I’m glad the Jays brought the best out in him.
The most impressive thing is that he does this with pretty much only 2 pitches. Just throws in a slider once in a while to keep things interesting
I miss him
