The “Best FIP through first week of 2026” banner is coming to Yankee Stadium very soon

So our pitching results are more or less in line with what they should be. That’s a good sign.

Sandy and the bullpen is really pumping our numbers lol

  4. Bum-Whistler

The Braves could create a whole new rotation with the number of pitches we have on the IL and we’ve tossed 3 shutouts and have only allowed 14 runs to this point lol wtf

  5. Either_Imagination_9

    Yeah this isn’t sustainable

  6. MarlKarx777

Yankees defence will definitely maintain this

  7. bronxbomberdude

Oh, look! The White Sox and Nationals still have no pitching! Nature continues onward.

I looked up FIP for the first time and was kinda shocked that it only looks at walks, strikeouts, and home runs. I thought there’s no way that can capture everything about a pitcher, but looking at how closely it aligns with ERA shows that it actually is a good measure of overall performance.

Without checking I have to just assume it’s Christian Javier tanking our FIP. And the Athletics are just beasts, credit where credit is due.

As a Nats fan, I’m getting plenty of comfy blankets and some good books to read. We’ll be in the « High ERA/High FIP » all season.

How many different teams would have won the World Series if it happened two weeks into their season instead of October/November

The Church of Matt Blake is always accepting new members

Admittedly miniscule sample size – but low FIP + low ERA means this isn’t luck, right?

What are the angels doing in the good Quadrant?

  15. Alkynesofchemistry

Good to know as bad as the nationals have been, they’re still over performing.

  16. Weegian

I remember when my team was built around good starting pitching.

  17. This chart look 100% sustainable through the full season.

  18. echoacm

I saw the White Sox all the way on the left hand side and thought I was living in a bizarro land

  19. cod_gurl94

lmao brewers, pirates, and reds are such frauds (do NOT look at the other team in that quadrant)

  20. JordanMCMXCV

If the Mariners could actually hit a baseball sometime soon that would be cool.

  21. LegitiamateSalvage

Both of these are weird to consider as a « team » because you’ll never isolate the team from the pitcher….

  22. --Shake--

It’s only been like a week. This is meaningless.
