    Yamamoto really grew to fame in the World Series. Can’t expect a Mets’ broadcaster to be too familiar with the World Series. He gets a pass

    Eh, that dude probably doesn’t hang out with Asians much so I give the guy a pass. It’s like a rando white person in some random Chinese city that’s **not** an international destination like Hong Kong and everyone thinks he’s Tom Cruise because they literally can’t tell most white people apart because they just aren’t around white people enough.

    Having said that, the dude I’m assuming lives in NYC which has a very large Asian/Asian American pop, so maybe he doesn’t have any excuses. I don’t know, I’m just trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Way too much reactionary « racism »/ »racist » labels being thrown around these days for honest mistakes.

    This is a director gap. The Mets lost their God tier director during the offseason. The director can hear the commentators and can talk to the camera ops. When the casters are making a point about someone the director will call for a closeup of the person they are talking about.

    Gary saw them take to the closeup right before the pitch. After years with the great director, Gary assumed he would get a closeup of the proper player.

    The Mets broadcast has taken a sound quality downturn since their brilliant director left too.
