Jackie deserves all the glory; it’s also great the league has been giving Larry Doby his due recognition as well.
Larry Doby absolutely NEEDS more recognition for his breaking the color barrier in the AL. I think many people take for granted the fact that the AL and NL used to be nearly completely separate entities, and their own leagues (this is why the idea of winning the pennant was always the major focus in the first half of the 20th century). Doby essentially integrated an entirely separate league, and he needs to be know by more people.
All the Guardians have asked for is to wear 14 on Doby’s debut anniversary, not even league wide. Why does the league keep refusing to let us honor him?
