Pirates would challenge the out at 2nd (runner was ruled safe), and they would lose the challenge. Runner would then score on a pickoff attempt to 2B that went into the outfield.

Beat him to the bag, and then pushed in the back. Fucking dirty play by Nunez and the umps got the review wrong.

It’s refreshing to see the opposing team with little league screw ups for once.

Should have been out at 2nd and illegal slide, what a game changing call

Its all good the Nats gacked it back up the next inning.

Heh, literally only Buccos fans see this as a dirty play

Close enough, welcome back Kenny Pickett

I mean that slide was waayyyy off to the left but that throw’s on Griffin. Tried to hold onto it and it slipped out.

  9. it’s just good to see pirates fans engaged with the sport again

Is this sub filled with Nats fans or something? Griffin clearly beat Nuñez to second, and Nuñez clearly slid across the plate in a successful attempt to break up the double play. Maybe the force out was too bang bang to overturn, and maybe the contact was too incidental for runner’s interference, but Pirates fans have every reason to be pissed about this.

My brothers in Christ, it’s April and it’s a funny looking play. Enjoy good weather and ball.

Wonder boy’s fancy blind spin move resulted in contact with the runner. Clean slide

As someone without a dog in this fight (other than wanting to see a competitive Pirates team), I truly don’t see how *anyone* would call that a ‘dirty slide’.

Phew. Konnor my boy, please don’t turn your back on the runner like that. A generation of ballplayers ago and he’s blindside ass over tea kettle 90% of the time.

There really aren’t many guys who’d do him like that these days, but accidents always happen. My ACLs flashed before my eyes during this clip.

  15. I can’t believe some people are calling this a dirty slide.
