Does someone eat it at the end?

This is one of those situations where the batter shouldn’t have done that, but I get it.

I also respect how the pitcher responded. I’m sure he didn’t mean to hit the guy, but so many pitchers treat “I didn’t mean to hit you” as a get out of jail free card and would be offended that the hitter was pissed at all. Seems like this guy took everything in stride

  3. Kinda make me wonder, if you’re a baseball player, what HBP/9 rate makes you start to think it’s intentional

That’s Spring Training stolen base legend Braiden Ward getting drilled in the head.

Imagine ejecting the person who got mad at being intentionally hit in the head

That is a crazy amount of HBP for a guy who doesn’t look like he’s crowding the plate at all.

  7. I think if you get beaned in the noggin you should be allowed to lightly toss the bat at the pitcher with no intention of hitting him. That’s fine

  8. Pitchers get to throw inside to scare batters off the plate, and there is no longer any recourse to their actions. Chucking a bat at the pitcher is a bad idea, and I never liked retaliatory beanings.

Maybe after 1 HBP, any HBP by any pitcher on that team is now a 2 base infraction. If the pitcher can’t throw inside safely, then you lose the right to pitch there. Lots of pitchers throw over 100mph which is really dangerous, so maybe the consequence needs to be upped.

  9. I’d be pissed too. You’re that erratic? How about get a different job?

  10. Batter is like, if you can’t locate a fastball better than that, you shouldn’t be on the mound. You missed by over a foot.
