If you watch this team play (and why would you) they legitimately don’t look like they give a shit.
At least the Rockies weren’t paying a shit load of money to be ass.
I am disappointed in the performance but I still support the Stearns front office, given the progress made on minor league player development and the lack of superior alternatives. The farm system is doing well and there are prospects in the minors who could contribute in the near future, a much better situation than the Phillies.
Mets fans like myself are frustrated but firing Stearns is just fans wanting a scapegoat.
That is impressive, statistically speaking.

David Stearns is a straight up fucking baseball terrorist. The Nimmo Semien trade, signing Devin Williams, “fixing” the rotation by trading for a pitcher who routinely cant throw more than five innings, signing a bunch of injury prone players to play out of position, expecting a rookie who had poor AAA numbers to be the starting right fielder and the worst part of all- having absolutely no depth in the case of injuries.
How did he spend this much money on a team with this many issues? And then not firing Mendoza after the collapse last year but firing every other coach instead. I went into the season optimistic and I feel like an idiot for thinking the roster was put together decently at all.
