There is zero chemistry within this team and it’s showing 😐

Imagine going from the Team DR vibes in the WBC to fielding questions about potential firings in April. Brutal

He is mostly correct. Carlos Mendoza should be making better choices for his line ups but at the same time thats on David Sterns for paying millions to guys who cannot hit (Tommy Pham and co). Its going to be a long season. I hope Soto can avoid letting this curse affect him.

Well that seems completely authentic and not at all scripted.

Mets are getting less than a dozen games with their 2 MVP runner-ups and future Hall of Famers on the field at the same time across the first 50+ games of the season.

That’s gotta be a major mood killer.

  7. What a stark contrast from 2024 when Jose Iglesias was singing his catchy pop song in front of happy Mets fans

  8. I’m gonna sound like a boomer here, but this is what happens when you put a team together purely on numbers with no regard to how they mesh together. It’s like the entire team is quiet quitting.

Call me crazy but I actually feel a little bad for the Mets.

I agree honestly. Alvarez, Soto, and Robert (though he’s cooled off) are the only hitters to meet their expectations so far and Soto missed two weeks. The pitching has been mostly good and isn’t really what got them here.

I mean, the manager can only do so much with the players he is given. The players have to play good.

Can you imagine if him and Judge were still a 1-2 punch in the Yankees line up? Fuuuuck

(Ron Howard voice) They did *not* put a great team together.

It would be unprofessional for him to say anything different.

My hot take is that the roster just kind of sucks, there’s one legitimate superstar in soto, a guy who teeters between superstar and star in lindor, a star-level player in bichette, and then a ton of mid or outright bargain-bin replacement guys filling out the rest of the lineup. On the pitching side you have a legitimate #2 guy in peralta, a stud rookie, and then again, a ton of mid. The bullpen’s fine I guess, but even williams isn’t who he once was. I kind of just don’t get stearns in general though, if you’re going to do the exorbitant payroll thing you have to get your money’s worth, whereas the mets seem to have like 15 completely uninspiring guys who are all making 10 million+. Obviously projection sites liked them going into the season, but I just don’t really see it

  16. Of course HE is gonna toe the company line. He’s the majority of the payroll.

Lmao I wonder if he regrets not staying with the Yankees
