That Rays start is the real flash of what you can see him being. An absolutely dominant 6 innings, and even as he got a lil shaky towards the end he locked in on the biggest threat in the Rays lineup (Yandy Diaz) for the last out. I’m happy to give him more leash, because we have other talented pitchers in this rotation, and you gotta learn in the bigs sometimes

One other addition is that I think Joey Bart does him zero favors with setting up strikeout pitches. To me it’s no surprise that Bubba’s best start came on a Henry Davis night and his worst came on a Joey Bart night. Bart is simply not a good game caller, and it’s something that shows statistically too. Even accounting for Henry being Skenes’ catcher, we perform better with Davis behind the plate. Last year we were about a .500 team when Davis caught, and we were about 28 games below .500 when Bart caught.

Seems like an AI generated article to conclude that Chandler has good stuff but is walking too many and needs to develop a good secondary pitch to his fastball.

    >Bubba Chandler isn’t failing. That’s what makes this more complicated — and more urgent.
Across nine big-league starts, the pattern is no longer random noise. It’s a trend.
    The walks tell the story.
Velocity used to be a separator. Now it’s an expectation.
He just can’t finish — and that’s the gap between potential and production right now.
At-bats extend. Pitch counts climb. Traffic builds. And eventually, something breaks.

    Bleh.
