Insane
Justin Turner malding rn
The raw numbers are cool but that… didn’t seem like a very good play? Didn’t really charge the weak grounder, double clutched it, and bounced the throw… He clearly has a lot of raw potential though, that’s cool that he was able to get the out still with his firepower
Made sure made that look easy, Jesus
> he won’t turn 19 until May 8th
Could’ve just said he’s 18. lol
I don’t think we have enough prospects
I thought his birthday was Dec 25
Is that batter the fastest man alive or is the field smaller? It looked like it should’ve been somewhat routine based on the ball speed and where it was fielded but it required a strenuous throw to barely get the out (or not even, very close).
Maybe 80 mph but accurate would be better.
Yes, 100 MPH in the dirt that could have easily went into the other teams dugout lol I think I’m more impressed that the 1B picked it cleanly.
call him up
Jesus Christ Jesus you don’t need to throw it that hard
1B made a nice dig on that
this is some showcase shit right here bad throw but ridiculous hard throw to show off the arm
Whole lotta neckbeards in the comments saying he should’ve just done this or that with the play….
He made a mistake getting to the ball, but he was able to salvage the play with his arm. If someone like Lindor makes that same mistake, it’s already over and there’s no chance at recovery.
TJS loading in 3…2…

He won’t play SS in the majors. We already signed our SS of the future to an 8-year deal.
Realistically he ends up at 3B since he is projected to reach the majors next year.
this sub is filled with so many fucking lames who don’t actually like baseball
The thought of having to pick a 100mph throw would be terrifying as a first baseman.
helluva pick
The guy who picked it deserves just as much kudos.
Cubs fans laugh in Shawn Dunston
“…Ball.”
More impressed by the pick from the 1B
Does anyone else hate that camera angle?
« Jesus Made » sounds like something you’d see on a t-shirt in a Bible Belt day camp.
That was a horrible play and throw lol, 1B bailed him out
Insane play by the 1b
Threw it in the dirt. Kudos to the first baseman.
double pump rocket into the dirt, classic minor league SS play
Jesus take the cowhide
Maybe have him try pitcher, not so he can actually pitch, but so he knows how to actually throw to where he needs to
The number of people that don’t understand what happened here is frightening. That is called a one-hop throw and it was 100% intentional. It was perfectly executed as well as the ball bounced to an easy location to be caught.
>**Key Reasons for the One-Hop Throw:**
>**Safety and Reliability:** A low, one-hop throw is often easier to handle than a direct throw that could sail high. First basemen are trained to « pick » these balls.
>**Fielding Dynamics:** The short hop gives the first baseman a predictable, true read compared to a direct throw, which can carry in unexpected ways.
>**Arm Angle/Momentum:** When throwing from deep in the hole or off-balance, an infielder might not have the power to make a direct throw. A one-hop allows for a quick release when falling away from the bag.
Looks like 3b to me

First baseman’s hand be like
Great scoop horrible throw
He has a lot of mechanics to work on over there at shortstop to be effective
