I’m happy with Rumfield but I felt like Murakami would’ve been obvious with Coors ngl
Overthinking yourself out of a great opportunity is Literally me.
He’s not a superstar after 136 PA. Let’s see how pitchers adjust.
He is obviously very good, but he chose Chicago because they would give him playing time and they needed a 1B. He’s not a perfect fit for every team if they already have a 1B or DH type.
He’s doing better than I expected but with his profile I would expect a few dry spells over the season. Superstar is quite the stretch at this point but I’m hoping he’ll prove me wrong. Definitely a fun addition to the league no matter what.
If Chicago was smart, they’d sell high for a bounty at the deadline.
At least wait until the All-Star break before taking a victory lap.
Feels like a stretch to claim he’s a superstar already. Small sample size, but dudes playing as expected.
67.3% in zone contact (6th percentile)
50.8% whiff vs secondaries (12th percentile)
37.2% whiff vs 95+ MPH fastballs (12th percentile)
-16.6% contact over expected (6th percentile)
Every single red flag on Murakami from the off-season still exists today
Seems like one of those guys that fits the Yankees motif
idk. Mune chose the Sox. The Sox never thought they had a chance until he told them they did. And it’s because they could afford to give him a huge runway and everyday at bats regardless of success or failure. And the Sox wanted a left handed corner infielder, preferably 1b, so it was a perfect match. I don’t buy the narrative that other teams were dumb about this. He had other offers he could have taken
LEAGUE’S LOSS IS OUR GAIN
Let us have something nice for a change, Jerry. Please. 😞
