..and the Chicago Cubs.
I always wondered how down offense would be if all the pitchers were actually healthy.

Joe Ryan hasn’t technically been put on the IL yet, unless Passan knows something that we don’t
You could just name our pitching staff as a whole, we have 2 starters left from opening day
Can’t land on the injury list if most of your pitchers are already on it.
Jose berrios. Trey Yesavage.
He forgot 90% of the Tigers rotation
The damn WBC…oh wait.
Isn’t the list this long every year?
If only it weren’t for that damn WBC right? That’s clearly what’s causing this /s
Baseball has a BIG problem with pitchers
Now that pitchers throw harder than ever before they can no longer stay as healthy as they used to
The role of the pitcher is changing rapidly
Now most pitchers eventually get injured to the point they will have to undergo some kind of surgery at some point in their careers
Now it’s rare that a pitcher has a long career without ever having to undergo some kind of surgery
That’s not normal

At what point does baseball have to look at the current system and figure out a new way forward? This just isn’t sustainable for teams especially with all the money being poured into top pitchers. Is there a change to the mound in terms of height or direct that wouldn’t create a need for teams to push pitchers to chase such high velocity and spin rate? Or is this more that this is how things are now and no matter what changes are made pitchers will still chase those high velocity and spin rates? Someone smarter than me weigh in
Joe Ryan isn’t on the IL yet but like we all know that’s coming
