Was rooting for Team USA but I’m happy to see Salvy get a WBC victory in his last go around with it. Also Geno and Bazardo obviously.

  2. AthleticAlarm32

« No big deal, we’ll come back and win the next two »

    – Mark DeRosa

  3. DirtAndShovels

Incredible showing from the Venezuelan squad. Their bullpen was fantastic all tournament and continued it tonight.

    Well deserved!

  4. dabrjoj1

Good thing we saved Mason Miller for game 2 right?

  5. DillyDillySzn

Mark DeRosa is a traitor who is part of the Taliban and single-handedly caused Pearl Harbor, 9/11, and the Fall of Saigon

  6. i_run_from_problems

This must be how England feels every world cup.

  7. War-Dragonite

Fate of the Universe on the line, you need a hit to prevent utter annihilation. Are you choosing Aaron Judge or your teams back up catcher?

  8. flushedoutthepocket

Venezuela had the better pitching, better hitting, better fans, and better managing. Absolutely the best team. Too much will be said about DeRosa, Judge, etc but Venezuela deserves this.

  9. YodaForceGhost

From the players side of things, this tournament loss is squarely on Judge. Weak leader, weak captain, and couldn’t get it done when it mattered most. Just an absolute embarrassment from him

  10. Akipella

Mark DeRosa is truly Team Venezuela’s MVP for this championship win. When giving his MVP speech after the game, he said: « apologies to Team USA. I had thought they’d already punched their ticket to the WBC Championship. »

  11. SGT_Apone

Congrats Venezuela! What a great tournament. Let’s hope part of the CBA will be clearing the road blocks for guys participating (insurance, team buy-in, etc.).

  12. g0_cubs_g0

I don’t ever want to hear Aaron Judge referred to as “Captain America” ever again

  13. countingouttime

Up until the Harper at-bat, was this game on pace to legitimately be the worst offensive performance of all time with respect to the expected performance of a star-studded lineup of Team USA’s caliber?

  14. FreeSeaSailor

FUCK MARK DEROSA FUCK ROB O’NEILL FUCK AARON JUDGE FUCK ALEX BREGMAN. COACH CURSED TEAM USA. MADURO REVENGE GAME. JACKASS COACH DIDN’T KNOW HE HAD TO WIN A GAME.

  15. Sweet_Baby_Cheesus

This US lineup which was constantly praised and talked about as a death star lineup was shutdown in this tournament by a:

    * 17 year old

    * Farmer who hadn’t pitched since the last WBC

    * Single-A guy named Tugboat

    * Various other perennial minor leaguers

    * A guy with a career ERA of 4.19

DeRosa needs to be fuckin gone, this team was cheeks.

  16. DarthNobody14

The US really went 14 consecutive innings without an RISP.

  17. Sirtopofhat

Sports talk shows in the US are gonna be crazy tomorrow

  18. ayumi_doll

Don’t be sad that it’s over. Smile because you don’t have to hear another fucking Women of the Bible or David commercial again.

  19. Bstokes4102

Team Venezuela was electric this year, what a fantastic team.

  20. CarlSwagan_

America really traded Maduro for baseball

  21. Collard-Greens

Pathetic showing by team USA. Can’t be a dream team if you never hit the fucking ball

  22. i_run_from_problems

You can’t make a team of power hitters. You need a team that can get on base.

  23. 3luejays

Another achievement in Salvy’s incredible career

  24. WhatSheOrder

Coach Miggy winning tonight is my World Series

  25. TL19957

Aaron Judge failing to show up in crunch time again.

  26. Important_Number6619

So happy for Venezuela, truly deserved!

  27. CabbageStockExchange

Well deserved by Venezuela. Fun tournament the WBC is just such a treat. Now onwards to Opening Day!

Honestly the Venezualans appreciate this exponentially more than Team America would have…this means everything to them. Well deserved
